Solstice Partners is committed to providing services and information in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities. We want everyone, clients, prospective clients and visitors, to be able to use our website and work with us comfortably, and we welcome feedback on how we can do better.

Our Commitment

We aim to meet the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards, and to treat accessibility as an ongoing part of how we work rather than a one-time project.

Website Accessibility

We aim for our website, solsticepartners.ca, to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, hearing, motor and cognitive disabilities.

What we’ve done so far – Structured pages with a logical heading order and “skip to content” links – Added text alternatives to meaningful images – Designed for keyboard navigation, with visible focus indicators – Labelled form fields and provided clear error messages on our contact forms – Checked text and background colour contrast – Built pages to work with screen magnification, browser zoom up to 200% and mobile devices – Avoided content that flashes or auto-plays with sound

Known limitations We are continuing to improve, and some areas may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA: – Some older blog articles and images may lack complete text alternatives – Some third-party tools embedded on the site, such as booking widgets, maps or social media feeds, are controlled by their providers and may not be fully accessible – Some downloadable PDF documents may not be fully accessible

If any part of the website is difficult for you to use, please contact us and we will provide the information in another way.

Accessible Customer Service

In line with the AODA Customer Service Standard, we commit to:

  • Communication that works for you. We can meet by phone, video call, email or in person, and we’ll adjust how we communicate to suit your needs, for example, plain-language explanations, extra time in meetings or written summaries after a call.
  • Alternative formats. On request, we will provide documents, reports and information about our services in an accessible format or with communication supports, such as large print, accessible electronic documents or a review by phone, at no extra cost, in a timely manner and in consultation with you.
  • Assistive devices. You are welcome to use your own assistive devices when working with us.
  • Service animals. Service animals are welcome in the areas of our office open to the public.
  • Support persons. You are welcome to bring a support person to meetings. We will not charge any fee for a support person, and we will ask for your consent before discussing confidential financial information in their presence.
  • Notice of disruptions. If a facility or service that people with disabilities rely on is temporarily unavailable, for example, building elevator access, we will post a notice on our website and at our office with the reason, expected duration and available alternatives.
  • Training. Everyone who provides services on our behalf is trained on accessible customer service.
